Beginner Taijiquan (Tai Chi)

Many people practice Taijiquan for its health benefits including increased energy, stress reduction, improved balance, and relief from ailments. However, Taijiquan was developed as an internal style of martial arts.

As a soft style, Taijiquan emphasizes relaxed muscles to allow for better Qi flow. With a better Qi flow and a concentrated mind, practitioners learn to sense, neutralize, and redirect an opponent’s force.

In this Beginner Taijiquan course, students will build the necessary foundation for Taijiquan practice with drills including spine waving, Taiji Qigong, soft body exercises, stances, basic footwork, and coiling skills. Although seemingly simple in nature, the development of these skills is a lifelong process.

Learn to:
● Develop body awareness
● Improve balance & root
● Improve Qi circulation
● Develop listening jing & sensitivity
● Relieve stress & tension
● and more!
